Bison aim to take Pirates treasureThe Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison will be looking to continue their excellent form on home ice, when the Hull Pirates are the visitors on Saturday (6.30pm).
The Pirates have failed to take any treasure from Basingstoke since they moved to the EPL, but will arrive in Hampshire eager to close the gap on the Herd, who are one place above them in the standings.
The Bison will have Aaron Connolly, Dan Davies, Joe Rand and Declan Balmer all back in their line-up, but will be without Joe Miller who is still injured, while Stuart Mogg and Ivan Antonov are away in Kazakhstan playing in the Winter Universiade.
Hull have made a number of changes since their last loss in Bisonland, when they only iced three imports.
They have signed a new import goalie in Vlastimil Lakosil, while forward Tommi Laine has returned and defenceman Martin Ondrej, who iced for Hull in the Elite League is also back. The Pirates also include former Herd man Ryan Watt.
Looking ahead to the game, Bison head coach Doug Sheppard said: “We have been playing some good hockey in recent weeks, scoring goals from all our lines. We want to keep this going, but Hull are not going to make it easy for us.”
Tickets for what should be another great game at the Basingstoke Arena and can be booked by phoning the box office on (01256) 355266 or on the Bison website.
On Sunday night, the Bison have another tough game, when they travel to third placed Peterborough Phantoms.
