Karpov returns with university link-upThe Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce that Tomas Karpov will once again be lining up in the Herd's colours in the 2017-18 NIHL campaign.
Entering his fifth season in the club's colour, the 28-year-old Czech forward will once again be looking to fire the side to success - as well as continue his studies at the University of Winchester, as part of their Masters programme.
Karpov has made 215 competitive appearances for the Herd - registering 264 points of which 126 were goals, winning the EPIHL League, Cup and Playoff title during his time with the club.
And with the new challenge of the NIHL on the horizon, Director of Hockey Doug Sheppard is sure Tomas will continue to be a key part of the club's success.
"I couldn't be happier that Tomas will be back for a fifth season in the club's colours. He's the complete player for our side, a great point-scorer but also the ultimate team-mate for those around him.
"I'm also delighted that we will be continuing our partnership with the University of Winchester - they have been a great support in helping bring some top players to this club, and I know Tomas has benefitted from their teaching over the past three years."
The Bison relationship with the University of Winchester goes back to 2008, when Eric Braff, Kevin Reiter and Jeremy Cornish were all enrolled on courses during their time with the club.
Since then, Joe Rand and Tomas have also benefitted from the scheme, which allows players to gain higher education qualifications whilst continuing their playing careers.
Supporters will once again have the opportunity to own-and-loan their favourite players jersey in the 2017/18 campaign.
Jerseys will cost just £115 this season - with the option of a light or dark jersey up for grabs.
They are available on a first-come, first-served basis from noon by emailing email@example.com. If you do not receive a reply to your email - then you have been unsuccessful in your attempt.
