Bavy’s BackAt last week’s annual season ticket night the Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison were pleased to announce the return of our popular match night host and D.J., Daren Bavister, for the 17 -18 season
There’s more to Hockey Night in Basingstoke than hockey! Bavy has become the face and voice of Bison hockey as he entertains the fans throughout the game. His tunes and his banter energise fans and players alike.
From his summer hideaway in Australia where he’s compering the latest Masters Football event Daren commented, “Having been the voice behind the team for the last 12 seasons witnessing the many highs and occasional lows over that period returning to the Stampede was never a difficult decision. I've been involved with the sport since 1990 and have witnessed some challenging times for all involved both on and away from the ice pad, the key to it all and witnessed week in and week out at the home of the Bison is the now legendary "Wall of Sound".
Being a part of the Herd has opened so many doors for me personally with Masters Football taking me to the other side of the world, eating and drinking for the majority of the tours, Reading FC and of course the pinnacle announcing the England senior team at Wembley.
Without doubt one of the events I can really express myself as a fan and thankful for it is the return to the home of the Bison and the support that young and old alike give every game, the warm smiles, banter, laughs and an occasional snarl from an opposition bench make it all worthwhile.
You me and the boys we ARE the Bison....bring the noise and BACK THE BOYS!
On behalf of everyone at the Bison - Welcome back, Bavy
