Weekend Preview - Two more tough tests against Wildcats and BeesAs the season races towards the crucial final few games the Sherfied School Basingstoke Bison have another big weekend ahead with a visit from Swindon followed by a visit to Bracknell.
Saturday’s two teams have met a lot so far this season and produced some epic battles so this weekend promises to be no different. With the added tension of the upcoming Autumn Cup Finals this adds even more to the value of Saturday’s league game as the winner will look to not only take the vital league points but also momentum for the upcoming cup final.
On Sunday it’s a short road trip to the Hive to take on the Bracknell Bees. They’re battling to get back into the top 5 in the league table and will want to avenge the defeat they took last Saturday in Basingstoke with 4 unanswered last period goals securing a great win for the Stampede on that occasion.
Head Coach Doug Sheppard commented; “We’ve got another two big games this weekend and right now all our focus is on Swindon, a team we'll see quite a bit of in the next 2 weeks. We know we'll have to be at our best to get a result and the two league points. On Sunday we head to local rivals Bracknell who always play tough in their own building so it's a huge weekend.”
He concluded; “We're playing with confidence right now and we want to keep the momentum going. We need to keep picking up points and moving forward as season drives to a close.”
Face-off on Saturday is 6.30pm and tickets can be bought on the night subject to availability or in advance by telephone to 01256355266 or via the Bison website. Sunday’s road trip has a 6pm face-off.
