Bison and Zizzi team up to support Ark Cancer Centre CharityTHE Trane-sponsored Basingstoke Bison and Zizzi restaurant will once again be teaming up for two charity evenings during the course of the ice hockey season that will deliver a boost to Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s £5million fundraising appeal.
Long-time Bison sponsors Zizzi are opening their doors to Bison fans at 7pm on Wednesday 24th October 2018 and 23rd January 2019 for two special events which will see some of the Herd players become waiters for the evening.
As well being served by some of the Bison stars, the Zizzi dinner guests will be able to take part in a raffle where the prizes will include a signed Bison shirt, signed stick, Zizzi vouchers, and a Zizzi gift basket.
Fans can book tables for the event by calling Zizzi on 01256 212835 from Thursday morning.
Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: “Ark Cancer Centre Charity is proud to be a community partner of the Bison, and we are grateful that proceeds from the two evenings will be coming to the charity in support of the fundraising campaign”.
"I hope that plenty of Bison and Ark supporters will come along to Zizzi to support these fundraising evenings, and to enjoy the rare opportunity, and treat, of having their food and drinks served to them by some of the Bison players.
“Every pound counts towards the £5m target, and Ark Cancer Centre Charity is grateful for the generous support from Bison head coach/player Ashley Tait, his fellow players, the team at Zizzi, and everyone who comes along to this popular events.”
John Neville, on behalf of the Trane-sponsored Basingstoke Bison, commented: “As an organisation, we are very proud to be hosting two events with our friends from Zizzi and Ark. All at the Bison enjoy these evenings where the fans get to see the players in a different and fun environment, raising much-needed funds for a local cause.”
Peter Southworth, Zizzi restaurant General Manager, added: “These events have been very well supported by the Bison fans previously. Seeing the players waiting on the tables is a fun thing to do and my staff, the players and the restaurant customers all enjoy these evenings raising funds for such a wonderful cause.”
Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s £5m appeal will provide a range of support services and complementary therapies, alongside chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, in a calm and uplifting environment.
Largely being funded by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT), plans are progressing to locate the new cancer treatment centre on the existing Basingstoke hospital site.
