The Trane Basingstoke Bison are saddened to have learned of the passing of Gavin Tait, father of our Head Coach Ashley Tait.

Gavin was well known in the hockey world having followed both Ashley’s and his brother Warren’s careers.

Trane Confirmed As Title Sponsor for Second Season

As exclusively announced this evening at the End of Season event the Basingstoke Bison ice hockey team are delighted to confirm that Trane have agreed to remain as “Principal Team Sponsor” for a further season and will once more be known as the “Trane sponsored Basingstoke Bison”.

With Trane’s UK head office based on Bessemer Road, Basingstoke, the company is excited to be part of the local community for a second season by sponsoring the Herd. Faruk Ucur the District Leader for Northern Europe commented, “We have had a wonderful year working with Bison, our employees have really enjoyed being part of the journey as the Bison went from strength to strength during the season and we had no hesitation in signing up for a second year, with the Bison moving into the National division of NIHL it really is the start of a new and exciting chapter for the team and one we very much wanted to be a part of”.

On confirming the deal John Neville on behalf of the Bison said, “It’s wonderful that Faruk, Gary and the staff at Trane will be backing the Bison for a second season. Our partnership worked extremely well last season and we intend to grow the relationship as we move into the newly formed NIHL National League. Trane are a local based business who support local sporting teams and what better way to showcase your products than the synergy the two company’s have with them both dealing with ice and sport on a daily basis”.

Coach Tait commented, “It’s great news that Trane have committed to the Bison for a second season and we look forward to welcoming them back to the arena for what will be an exciting season in the new league”.

The Trane logo will continue to be featured above the crest on the Bison playing jerseys for the forthcoming season as well as a visible presence both inside and outside the arena.
