About Us

intension of providing more opportunities for everyone through combined sports
and educational activities. We work with a number of key partners including the British Sledge Hockey Association to deliver programmes that meet the needs of people with physical
and mental disabilities and are proud to work with Basingstoke Ice Rink to
support the Battle Back Bisons, a sledge hockey team used to assist in the
rehabilitation of injured service men and women.
Education
Bison in the Community recognises the value of education within the local
community. By running a number of different schemes Bison in the Community aims to help
educate and inspire as many people as possible in order to enable them to
improve the local area in which they live
Health

community.Working alongside a number of regional and national health agencies, several
targeted health intervention programmes aimed at promoting positive lifestyle
choices amongst diverse sections of society are being delivered throughout the
Basingstoke area.
Fundraising
As a registered charity, Bison in the Community relies upon financial support
from donations; sponsorship from working partners and monies raised through
fundraising events to enable the charity to continue is valuable contribution to
local neighbourhoods.
With your help we can use the passion for winter sports to educate, motivate and
inspire young people to build a better life for themselves and improve the
communities they live in. Bison in the Community delivers coaching, skills training, personal development and life changing experiences, providing everyone with opportunities to change
their lives for the better.
Hockey Schools
Run by trained coaches from the Club, the Hockey Schools offer people the chance
to develop their skills and learn new techniques in a safe, fun environment.
Children will be taught skills and techniques that have kept ice hockey stars
such as Nicky Chinn and Steve Moria at the top of their game. Players will be separated into groups for the on ice sessions according to age, experience and skill level. The morning sessions will be primarily used for skill development via station work and the afternoon session will be more fun
based and team orientated.
We aim to improve your game over the week through various drills, power
skating, edge control and puck control lessons together with hockey games and
fun sessions.
