Bison 6 Cardiff 0
6th of January 2008
Saturday night saw the Bison stampede to a 6-0 victory over the Cardiff Devils in the British Knockout Cup.

This means the Herd have virtually booked themselves a place in the semi-finals of Cup.

Bison have now won five of their last six at home while slumping Devils have only two wins from their last 11.

It took a powerplay strike from Greg Owen (16th) timed at 14.29 to separate the teams in an even opening period but the home side took command in the middle session - despite being outshot 15-10 by their visitors.

Bison goals in the period came from Eric Braff (2nd) at 25.41 and Greg Chambers (18th) at 29.39 to give them a 3-0 advantage.

Devils had little in the way of a response and were put to the sword by Bison in the final period. Derek Campbell (12th) made it 4-0 at 43.25 and then a shorthanded strike by player/coach Ryan Aldridge (3rd) at 47.35 saw the homesters go 5-0 up.

The scoring was rounded off by Owen (17th) at 53.07 and Bison netminder Curtis Cruickshank was able to complete a 35 shot shutout as the home side celebrated a very good nights work.
