Bison 3 Hull 4 (After Overtime)
18th of November 2007
Hull ended an eight game winless run by becoming the first team this season to win a game away in overtime with Rob Rankin hitting home the game winner at 63.37. At the same time it brought an end to Basingstoke's recent run of three wins and saw the Humberside team leapfrog the team form Hampshire in the league standings.

In an even first period there was little between the teams as they looked for the opening goal, chances were being created at either end but neither team could find the net and the period ended goalless.

It was a different scenario in the second period as within the opening minute of the period the visitors opened the scoring as Nikolai Ladygin netted his first of the season. Just over a minute later they doubled their lead with a goal from Bryce Thoma (2nd). The hosts got back into the game at 23.44 with a goal from Captain Brad Cruikshank (7th). The home side then upped the ante and went in front with two goals in 30 seconds the first from Greg Owen (9th) on the powerplay at 27.22, then recent signing David Vychodil (1st) edged the home side in front at 27.52.

The visitors restored equality at 49.16 with a goal from Rob Rankin (9th) so with just over ten minutes to go it was all to play for. Neither side could find a winner and after 60 minutes the game went into overtime. With 63.37 on the clock Rob Rankin (10th) found the net to give the Stingrays the extra point and bring them their first win in nine games.
