Cardiff 8 Bison 4
4th of November 2007
This was the third meeting between these two teams in the league this season and for some strange reason they have all been played in Cardiff. The Bison who got a win last week after a winless run of nine games went into this game on a high. The Devils themselves are in a rich vein of form at the moment having only lost once in their last ten outings.

The home side got off to the best possible start as Tyson Teplitsky (5th) fired them into the lead with 23 seconds on the clock. The Bison struck back with two goals in just over a minute, the first coming from the stick of Steve Thornton (10th) at 5.04 and then Greg Chambers (8th) at 6.21 to give the visitors a 2-1 lead which they held to the opening period break.

The Devils stepped up a gear in the second period and hit four without reply to take a commanding lead. Brad Voth (10th) restored equality at 21.37. They then hit two powerplay goals in a minute to take a 4-2 lead, Jason Silverthorn (9th) at 28.20 and Mike Garrow (4th) followed this up at 29.20. With 32 seconds of the period remaining Max Birbraer (9th) completed a great period for the home side.

Two further goals from The Devils with a second from Jason Silverthorn (10th) at 43.52 and then Paul Sample (2nd) at 49.58 put them out of sight. A second goal of the game from Greg Chambers (9th) at 51.58 and then Wes Jarvis (2nd) at 54.02 were no more than consolations for the visitors but Devils' Paul Sample (3rd) notched his second of the game to complete the scoring at 56.34. This goal was assisted by Sylvain Deschatelets and completed an outstanding night of playmaking from the Devils star with no fewer than 6 assists on the night.

The game ended with a major altercation with 23 seconds left on the clock and once the ice chips settled we saw the ejection of Bison Brad Cruikshank on a 2+2+game misconduct for leaving the bench as well as a further game misconduct for being 3rd man into an altercation, while teammate Wes Jarvis picked up a fighting major along with Devils Brad Voth, who was also handed a game misconduct.
