Sheffield 3 Bison 2
22nd of October 2007
This game was on a knife edge right up until the 51st minute when Steelers hit two goals in 17 seconds to secure the points, although the Bison did give them a late scare with a goal 90 seconds from the end.

Now 4 straight wins for Steelers but a winless run of 7 for Bison.

Sheffield must be wondering how they didn't have the game sewn up in the first two periods. The shot count over the two periods was 16-1 in the first and 16-5 in the second in favour of the home side.

All that was to show for Steelers' efforts and their frustrated fans was a scoreline of 1-1 after 40 minutes. Despite only having the one shot on goal in the first period the visitors made it count as they opened the scoring at 12.23 with Ben O'Connor netting his first goal of the season. The hosts tied it up with 26 seconds of the period remaining as Doug Sheppard (6th) found the net.

With the second period somehow remaining goalless we went into the third period with the teams still all square at 1-1. At 50.15 Steelers took the lead with a goal from Ryan Finnerty (3rd) and then at 50.32 Jeremy Cornish (2nd) hit home the game winner. The Bison did pull one back at 58.31 through Greg Chambers (4th) but it was too little too late.
