Bison set for Giant win
19th of October 2007
The current members of the Basingstoke Bison face their former team mates Stevie Lyle and Peter Campbell, for the second time in three days as the Belfast Giants are in town on Saturday.

On Thursday evening in Northern Ireland, Belfast ran out 5-3 winners as Lyle picked up the man-of-the-match award and Campbell netted twice. For the Bison Danny Stewart, man-of-the-match Brad Cruikshank and player-coach Ryan Aldridge got on the scoresheet.

So the Herd will be out to avenge the defeat in the first meeting between these sides this season at the Basingstoke Arena

The game gets underway at 6.30pm and tickets for what should be another great night of action are available from the box office on (01256) 355266.

Remember to bring along any money you can spare for the bucket collection on be-half of the team on the night.

On Sunday night, the Bison make their first trip to the House of Steel, and will be looking to repeat their 6-3 victory over Sheffield in Basingstoke. A game which saw Derek Campbell fire in the first home hat-trick of season and the scoring was completed by Peter Campbell, Steve Thornton and Greg Owen.

Former Bison player-coach Doug Sheppard who scored in the game on his return to Hampshire will once again face many former team mates, while Sheffield born Greg Wood and Ben O'Connor - son of Steelers General Manager Mike O'Connor will hope to do well in the Steel City.
