Bison 6 Steelers 3
1st of October 2007
The Basingstoke Bison were in full stampede on Saturday night as they beat the Sheffield Steelers 6-3.

Derek Campbell netted a double at 2.14 and 4.51 to put the home side two up. With the shots raining in on Jody Lehman (16 in total) it was no surprise that the home side extended their lead. Two quick goals in just over a minute the first from Greg Owen 16.39 on the powerplay and Peter Campbell at 17.50 gave the Bison a commanding first period lead.

The Steelers got a slight glimmer of hope at 22.46 with a Joe Talbot powerplay goal. Only for Bison to strike at 24.30 with a goal from Steve Thornton, The home side added further misery on the Steelers as Derek Campbell netted his hat trick at 30.20 to put the home side 6-1 in front and also see the departure of Jody Lehman.

David Lawrence who took over from Lehman turned away all 17 shots he faced. This gave the Steelers a bit of a lift and they did have the last say in the game with those two late markers from Joe Talbot 52.33 and Doug Sheppard 52.47.
