Bison 3 - 1 Hull
16th of September 2007
The Basingstoke Bison collected their first Elite League points at home on Saturday night with a 3-1 win over the visiting Hull Stingrays. Hull took an early lead but was blitzed in the middle session by a Bison treble.

Dean Melanson and Wes Jarvis both iced for the Herd after arriving in the U.K. this week.

Stingrays opened the scoring at 5.51 with a short-handed effort by Rob Rankin and kept their advantage until Greg Owen levelled at 22.06 while Bison were on a 5 on 3 powerplay. The home side then took the lead at 30.46 with what turned out to be the game winning goal from the stick of Peter Campbell and it went to 3-1 at 32.06 with Campbell nabbing his second of the night.

Bison kept control of the game in the third period with Stingrays struggling to get quality shots on the home net and with neither side adding to their tally it was the home side gaining full points from their nights work.
Stingrays' frustrations saw Jake Riddle given a 10+game on the final buzzer.
