The Basingstoke Bison's 2007-08 season got off to a great start with a comfortable home win over the Bracknell Bees followed by a come-back in Cardiff to draw 6-6 with the Devils.

New signing Steve Thornton scored the Herd's first goal of the season on Saturday night as the home side raced to a 5-0 lead. Two goals in the final period sealed the 7-3 victory over the Bees.

On Sunday night the Bison were again first on the scoreboard but in the end had to comeback from 5-2 down to draw the game. Steve Thornton scored the Herd's sixth against his former club.
