Wolfies serve up great new sponsorship with Bison
16th of July 2009
The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce a new sponsorship deal with Texas restaurant and sports bar chain Wolfies.

Also on the menu in the link-up is the company's first ever restaurant and sports bar in Britain, which will replace the Q's Bar at the Basingstoke Arena.

It is set to be open in September and Wolfies will also be sponsoring the Herd's home challenge game with local rivals Bracknell on Saturday September 12.

The highly successful company have signed a one year deal and the Wolfies logo will also be on the Herd's jerseys for the forthcoming season.

A bonus for Bison season ticket holders in this new sponsorship deal is they will get a 10 per cent discount on the great food on offer at the brand new establishment.

They offer a wide range of dishes from right across the eating experience, which will tickle every taste bud while being freshly cooked on the premise.

The link-up between Wolfies and Planet Ice came about after a trip to Texas to see the operation in action.

The bosses of Planet Ice were very impressed with what they saw and felt the concept would work well in Basingstoke.

Jon Nelson, President of Wolfies on a recent trip from his home in Houston, USA said: "We are very exciting about coming to Basingstoke and opening our first restaurant in the UK.

"We opened out first unit back in 1996, but this is first time we have sponsored a team so it all new for us, but we are looking forward to joining up with the Bison."

He added: "We are a family restaurant and ice hockey is a family sport so it is great tie up for us. Our reputation is built on good food that brings back people time and time again. So we are looking forward to welcoming all the fans this season and I am sure they will enjoy the atmosphere we provide."

Mike Petrouis, group managing director of Planet Ice said: "I was very impressed with what I saw in Texas when we visited there. We ate in more than one of their restaurants.

"This a great deal for the Basingstoke Bison and I am sure it is going to benefit both parties in what is going to be an exciting season."
