Mo's Mumblings
13th of July 2009
A weekend in Devon proved to be quite exciting. Jack loves the beach, big swimming pools, and getting his picture with Bob the Builder and Barney!

Maybe next year the destination will be Cornwall. I have been all over the country but have failed to visit the place I would most like to visit.

We are very excited to be moving to Basingstoke at the end of the month. Jo passed her PGCE and was awarded 'outstanding'. Hopefully she can find herself a primary school teaching position.

Jack is pumped about moving, as he sings "What's that coming over the hill? It's the Bison, it's the Bison!!" 15-18 thousand Cardiff City fans would sing "It's Michael Chopra", but I think "It's the Bison!" sounds far better.

I am off to the Okanagan in three weeks time. I am looking forward to lakes, bbqs, Tim Hortons, wakeboarding, nieces and nephews and 35 degrees heat with an air conditioned retreat.

I was considering the Kelowna Triathlon but I will give it a miss thus avoiding the hard pavement training and banging of the knees.

We are still tinkering with the Bison shirt design and will have that completed in the next week or two. The away shirt was completed almost immediately but we could not find a home shirt design that we liked.

I am very impressed with the amount of interest in the "own and loan" scheme. Paul West has been very busy from a marketing point of view and we are formulating various strategies for the season and future seasons. I think that Planet Ice's decision to take control of the Bison will be the best decision for the longevity and success of the Club.

We have been training on the ice once a week for the past month and a half. It is great to see that all of the guys who live reasonably close have come out to train.

Jamie Line lives near Milton Keynes and has driven down every week. Ollie Bronnimann came out last week for a skate even though he lives two hours away.

Dedication and commitment are very important traits in the determination of a team's success. I am very excited about the new season!

Alright, that's it. I'm off to make a couple of chai tea lattes!
