Mo's Mumblings
21st of June 2009
Mindy, Mindy, Mindy!!! I have to admit that I was very excited when his contract was signed. He is a big player with a commanding presence.

I found out that Mindy is a shareholder of a vintage shop in Vilnius, Lithuania. When I think of craft shops or pawn shops in Eastern Europe, I think of Jason Bourne in the Bourne Ultimatum or Ethan Hunt from Mission Impossible. I do not think of Mindy Kieras or any other hockey player working in a vintage shop in Vilnius.

Thank you to everyone who turned up to the "Meet Joe" night. Joe is a great person who I am sure that you will enjoy having a quick conversation with or just watching his hockey skills on the ice. We put together that short video footage in an hour at the rink one night. Bavy took it home, edited it and jazzed it up nicely. A collection of video clips throughout the season might make an interesting dvd.

Joe quietly told me that he is not actually a renowned Italian chef. But he did introduce me to a great way of turning warm milk into perfect froth to make cappuccinos. Simply add the milk to a cafetiere and plunge until the required froth!

On a similar subject I must add that Karen's (Joe's wife) mum made a superb dessert at a bbq a few weeks ago. She brought in this white log shaped thing on a plate. I worriedly accepted a small amount of what I anticipated being a white type of Christmas cake. To my surprise was a light, sweet and gorgeous dessert. I had to have another serving or two. I think she said it was cream, meringue and smashed up Dime bars!

House hunting is going poorly. I continue to search for a three bedroom place to rent without any success. Please feel free to contact me if anyone might have a lead. Hopefully we can make the move into the Basingstoke area in a month's time.

With the signing of Andy Hemmings, we now have 9 forwards, 5 defencemen and 2 goalies. I think that the recruiting process has gone very well. We have a very capable team that can compete for trophies. Will we win a trophy this season? Of course this question is impossible to answer. There are so many intangibles that can have an influence in the outcome. I believe that I have a team of players who will be dedicated and committed to the ultimate goal.

Just a quick comment about Ronaldo's departure and in the words of Marky D- Adi beatit os. Let's get another striker and two midfielders signed and business as usual.

Don't forget about the "Own and Loan" a Bison shirt. It looks as if the "owner" will have his/her name under the number and above the Winchester University logo. Looking at the shirt designs, it looks quite sharp where it is.
