Mo's Mumblings is definitely being read! I just got a Facebook message from someone called the Yater, who told me it was time for another collection of words.
The Bracknell Bees hockeyfest was a big success. Supporters turning up showed their support knowing that the game was going to be a "fun" game of hockey. Matt Cote was a notable player to take part, and it was great to see him again.
Everyone had a great time and I believe that the financial gain from tickets sold and auctioned jerseys was a good sum of money.
From a personal point of view, it felt strange and awkward being on the ice after having six-seven weeks off, but it definitely gave me the "itch" to start up again on a more regular basis.
We are going to begin skating once a week throughout the summer until September when it gets serious.
There is a League meeting on Sunday which will paint a clearer picture for next season. These meeting are imperative to discuss the way forward for the EPL.
There will be a lot of different ideas discussed about everything and anything. Fixtures will be one topic of conversation. Last season at Slough, I think we played Peterborough five times in the opening seven weeks of the season.
We didn't play Isle of Wight in Slough until February in which we played them three times! These sort of fixtures hurt club's attendances which will ultimately impact on the financial well-being of the club.
The weather does not look good for the weekend which is unfortunate for the Kite Festival at Down Grange. The Bison will have a stand there and thanks to Westie (Paul West) and everyone else for helping out.
Hopefully we will get a few of the team down. Tony (Redmond) is planning on stopping by shortly after lunch on Saturday so be sure to say hello to Tosh!
The Joe Ciccarello night or the Joe Ciccarello/Nicky Chinn night looks all set to go on Thursday June 18th. An announcement will be made very shortly.
Maybe we can have a kitchen set up so Joe can show everyone how to make a proper Marinara sauce. Maybe Chinny can bring some firemen gear down and give a demonstration. Well maybe not.
That reminds me, Chinny, Paul West and I went out for 18 holes last week at Test Valley.
My woods seemed to have disappeared from my golfbag so I was hoping that the proshop would have a "demo" driver I could borrow. They did not, so the 4 iron became the main club of the day.
I am not boasting, just letting the truth be known, when I say that I crushed those two guys, shooting an 80. It was fun and I can't wait to move to Basingstoke to do more things in the area.
We talked about how this course would be a great course to have a golf tourney. Possibly have two supporters play with a Bison player and have a BBQ by the 18th green watching the players come in. How about a Sunday afternoon at the beginning of September?
Also don't forget new for his season is the Bison Own and Loan jersey scheme and we have plenty of guys signed on to chose from.
Home shirts are priced at £150 and the away ones are £120. For further information and the chance to own a Bison shirt for the forthcoming season please e-mail bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk
