The Basingstoke Bison are pleased to announce the signing of Slovakian born forward Ondrej Lauko.
The free scoring import will make his debut in Britain in the autumn after a very successful career in Poland and his native Slovakia.
The 28-year-old last season topped the scoring charts for Polish side Naprzod Janow with 49 points and was also was their top goal scorer hitting the net 23 times in 54 games.
He also returned an impressive plus 21 for the campaign, by far the best on the Janow roster. The season before that he played for KH Sanok also in Poland where he scored 21 times.
He moved there having spent all his career with VTJ Topolcalny posting another two 20 plus goal getting seasons.
Talking about his latest addition Bison player/coach Steve Moria said: "I was looking to sign him at Slough mid-season a few years ago, so I pleased to have got him this time."
"He skates well and does not mind the physical play. Everyone I have spoken too rates him as a good offensive player."
Lauko said: "I am looking forward to coming to England and I had a couple of offers from teams in the EPL, but I have chosen to join Basingstoke."
The signings Lauko brings the number of members for the Herd to 12 and don't forget you can own the sharp shooter shirt for the forthcoming along with any of the previous Bison signings as part of the new Own and Loan jersey scheme.
