Kurt remains a Bison
7th of May 2009
The Basingstoke Bison are pleased to announce the signing of British defenceman Kurt Reynolds.

The 22-year-old excelled in his first season in the Elite League last year being one of the few shining lights of the Bison's season.

The smooth skating blue liner was the instigator of many Bison offensive plays which made a firm favourite with the Basingstoke fans.

He certainly showed his attacking flair returning 13 league points hitting the net four times, putting him in the top 10 scorers on the team last term.

He now returns to the English Premier League which is no stranger to having had a excellent year with the Bracknell Bees before joining the Herd last summer.

Before joining the Bees, Basingstoke-born Reynolds, spend a number of seasons in North America and during that time twice won gold medals with the Great Britain junior sides at the World Championships.

Talking about his latest defensive signing of the summer, Bison player/coach Steve Moria said: " Kurt has a lot of natural skill and strong defensively. Obviously last season was a difficult one in Basingstoke with the amount of losses the team suffered, but he is young player who I expect a big year out of."

On signing for a second season with the Herd, Reynolds said: " I wanted to continue to develop my career and learn from the experienced players in Basingstoke. I feel Steve (Moria) is putting together a side which will win things and I wanted to be a part of it."

The British blue liner added: "The Bison fans were great to me last season and they deserve a winning team, which is what they will have this season in the EPL."
