Bison Line up great new signing
7th of May 2009
The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce the signing of British forward Jamie Line.

The 19-year-old Luton-born player joins the Herd from the Slough Jets, where he spend the second half of 2008/09 campaign, having started it with the Bracknell Bees.

He made his English Premier League debut in season 2005/06.with the Bees and is looked upon as another very good young British player.

Despite last year being a split between two sides, it proved a fruitful one for the Great Britain Junior international as he scored 11 times in a 24 points tally.

Basingstoke player/coach Steve Moria played with Line last season in Slough and knows exactly what he will bring to the Herd this coming season.

The Bison boss said: "He is small in stature, but big on commitment he is the last guy off the ice at training. When he joined us in Slough in January we were not playing well as a team, but Jamie was the shining light for us in that month.

"He has fantastic speed and is not afraid to hit and at his age he is only going to get better which is great for the Bison."

Teenager Line who played a couple of times for Basingstoke in the Elite League on a two-way deal with the Bees is excited about joining the Herd and said: " This is a new challenge for me and what the Basingstoke fans will see is that the I am a hard working player who gives 100 per cent every shift.

He added: "I feel I am joining a team which will certainly be one of the contenders this season."

Tonight will see the Herd announce another signing at their season ticket evening which is in Q's Bar at the Basingstoke Arena starting at 7.30pm.
