Bison were far from finished however and with only 10 seconds of the period remaining it was all square as Danny Stewart (26th) found the back of the Blaze net.

In the middle session Blaze turned on the power and out shot the home side by 23 to 11 but they found Curtis Cruickshank in great form between the pipes are were unable to score - while at the other end Stewart (27th) hit his second of the game at 30.58 to edge Bison ahead.

The Bison faithful were celebrating again at 43.59 when Derek Campbell (17th) scored shorthanded to give his team a 2-goal advantage and with Blaze again unable to break through the home lead remained intact until the final buzzer and this sets up an intriguing 2nd Leg in Coventry next Tuesday.
