Home ice is where the action is for the Basingstoke Bison over the next few days, as after a weekend of Elite League games, the Herd entertain Swindon in a special challenge game on Wednesday night.
The first contest of the trio of fixtures is on Saturday at 6.30pm, with the reigning league champions in town the Coventry Blaze, which is always a good game
The Midlands side have enjoyed their trips to Basingstoke so far this season, but now is time for the Herd to gain revenge.
Before that the Bison players will be at the Ma Humbugs shop on Hackwood Road to help owner Nicky Pengilley launch her new shop opening at the entrance to the War Memorial Park.
Players will be there at around 11am on Saturday morning to sign autographs and have photos taken and there will also be a sweet offer to all Bison fans attending.
Ma Humbugs have been sponsoring the Chuck-a-Puck competition on Bison match nights for the past two years.
Then on Sunday night at the earlier face-off time of 6pm, the Nottingham Panthers are in town. The Bison will be keen to record a third victory over the Lace City team this season.
Talking ahead of the double header homer, Basingstoke player/coach Eric Braff said: "We know it is going to be a tough weekend, but we want to break our losing streak and there is no better place to do that than at home."
Tickets for both games are still available from the box office on (01256) 355266.
Completing the trio of matches is Wednesday night's Challenge game with the Swindon Wildcats coached by former Bison coach Ryan Aldridge.
This game is being used to raise money for the Herd players who suffered a financial short-fall at the start of the season due to the departure of the then owner, this was before Planet Ice took over running the team.
The format of the evening will see a match between the local rivals, as well as a number of skills competitions in each of the period breaks.
Planet Ice have kindly donated the ice time free of charge for the game which has a 7.30pm face-off.
Two great prizes up for grabs on the night. The first being the chance to take part in the warm-up with the Bison players and then sit on the bench for the match. The second is the chance to be bench coach for the game.
Tickets for both these prizes will be on sale at both Herd games this weekend, so make sure you don't miss out on this great opportunity.
Tickets for other raffle prizes in conjunction with the game, including a signed shirt and signed sticks will also be on sale, along with tickets to have you photo taken with your favourite player at the Wednesday game.
