Braff wants to keep winning feeling
24th of October 2008
New Basingstoke Bison player/coach Eric Braff, will be hoping to continue his excellent start in charge of the Herd this weekend.

Having guided his team to two wins in his first three games at the helm, he is looking for more success on Saturday night, when the Edinburgh Capitals are in town.

Basingstoke won the reverse fixture in Scotland on Tuesday night, with Greg Chambers scoring the overtime winner. That took his tally to two for the game in a five point haul which took him to the top of the Elite League scoring charts.

Also on the scoresheet for the Herd in that game, were Brad Cruikshank, Brent Hughes and a first goal of the season for Curtiss Patrick.

The Edinburgh marksmen were Joe Dustin, Iain Bowie, Doug Christiansen and Taylor Christie, while their top points scorer Mark Hurtubise bagged three assists on the evening.

Despite the win, Braff is taking nothing for granted, as the Caps will be out to avenge their recent decent.

The Bison player/coach said: "We are not going to under-estimate Edinburgh as we can't afford to. We want to keep this momentum going and add to our recent victories.

"As long as everyone works hard and we excute our systems I see no reason why we can't win."

There are still tickets available for what s sure to be an exciting contest between two sides close in the standings. The action starts at 6.30pm and tickets are available on (01256) 355266.

On Sunday night, the Herd make the long journey north to the Newcastle Vipers for a second time this season. When last in the north east, they lost narrowly in a high scoring game after penalty shots.
