The Basingstoke Bison will be keen to get their play-off dreams back on track this Saturday when they play the Cardiff Devils.
This game is vitally important as last weekend the Herd slipped out of the top eight play-off spots.
So far this campaign the Welsh side have won all the five previous Elite League encounters, but the Herd did inflict a 6-0 drubbing in the British KnockOut Cup in early January on home ice.
When these teams last met a fortnight ago in a Basingstoke, the Devils ran out 4-1 winners with Sylvain Deschatelets and Gerad Adams helping themselves to two goals each.
Bison's lone reply came from Greg Chambers one of 32 league goals so far this season, which puts him just one behind Steve Moria's Bison Elite League best of 33.
The Herd have injury doubts on Steve Thornton and David Vychodil ahead of the contest.
Bison head coach Ryan Aldridge said: "We want to make the play-offs and now not being in the top eight is a wake-up call for us to respond to.
"Cardiff have been our bogey team all season. One area we must be stronger on is stopping the shots coming in from the points from their defencemen, as that is where they have scored a lot of goals against us this year."
Tickets for the game which has a 6.30pm face-off have been selling fast, so to avoid disappointment ring the box office (01256) 355266.
The Cardiff game will also see the BBC Reading and Writing (RaW) campaign in town, so make sure you are part of it and don't miss out on your free gifts available from the table in the foyer by skate hire.
RaW is the BBC's biggest ever campaign that aims to help all ages across the UK to read and write better.
There are a number of writing exercises including an ice hockey action picture caption challenge, the opportunity to write a mini period report for the Basingstoke Gazette and the club website. There is also the chance to try your hand at writing a tabloid headline relating to incidents during the game.
