LeClair is sweet Bison signing
31st of January 2009
The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announced the signing of skillful American defenceman Corey LeClair.

The blue liner is no stranger to Basingstoke having played this season for both the Coventry Blaze and Nottingham Panthers and makes his debut tonight against the Cardiff Devils.

In fact, LeClair scored on his last visit to Basingstoke during his short spell with the Panthers, where he was one of their stand-out players on the night.

The 25-year-old is in his first season in Britain and has posted impressive stats of six goals and 12 assists from 38 games.

The 6ft 1in blue liner is a smooth skater, who moves the puck well and has a very good shot. He certainly is another useful addition to the team, hot on the heels of new Czech forward Ivo Mocek.

Last year in North America, he played in the East Coast Hockey League split between the Phoenix Roadrunners and Dayton Bombers, where he picked up six goals and 18 helpers.

He will make his Bison debut tonight and tickets are still available for that game by ringing the Basingstoke Arena on (01256) 355266.
