The Basingstoke Bison will be looking to make it a hat-trick of home Elite League wins over the Edinburgh Capitals, when they are in town on Saturday night.
On the Scottish side's two previous visits they lost 7-2 and then 6-5 after penalty shoot-out.
However, since these games they have a number of new faces in their line-up including highly rated defenceman Sean Perkins, Czech Republic forward Roman Nesrsta and the very experienced Pasi Raitanen has taken over the netminding duties.
This match will go a long way to determining the Herd's play-offs hopes as they look to close the gap on the Caps who are currently five points in front of them. The Herd will also be out to avenge a 4-2 defeat in Murrayfield in the final game of 2008, which saw the Caps largest ever Elite League crowd of 1,560
That match saw the Bison's star netminder, Kevin Reiter, suffer his ankle injury and once again he will be out of the line-up this weekend.
Replacing him for both games will be Coventry Blaze netminder Steve Fone, who picked up the man-of-the-match award, for his excellent performance on Wednesday night in the Bison's 7-3 defeat in Nottingham where he face 58 shots.
Bison player/coach Braff said: "I think our play-off hopes hinge on Saturday's game against Edinburgh and it is vital we win in regulation time, we can't afford to let them take away a point by getting the game to overtime.
He added: "After losing in Hull an Nottingham. We have to re-group and we need a breakout game to get the confidence back in the team.
The action on Saturday for big clash gets under way at 6.30pm and tickets are still available from the box office on (01256) 355266.
On Sunday night, the Bison travel to Cardiff for the first leg of the Knock-Out Cup quarter-final. Last season Basingstoke were beaten finalists in this competition and will be hoping to go one better this time around.
Only last Saturday, these teams met in Hampshire, with the Devils skating away to a 4-2 victory. Cardiff travel to Sheffield before the Bison game in what is the club's first meeting since their mass brawl in Wales.
Talking ahead of the Devils game, Braff said: "They are a tough team to beat, but this is the first 60 minutes of what is a 120 minute game. So we need to go hard for the whole three periods and make sure we come away with the result which keeps us in the hunt for the home game. We want to win silverware and we have every chance in this competition."
