With two victories already under their belts against the Edinburgh Capitals this season.
Saturday will see the Herd going for win number three. This will maintain their clean sweep of wins so far during this Elite League campaign.
With their Scottish rivals just three points ahead of the Herd in the standings, this is a massive game for both sides as they look to secure a place in the end-of-season play-offs.
When Edinburgh were last in town it was a very open entertaining contest, which the Bison won 7-2, despite being out shot 50-34, as Kevin Reiter had a superb night in the home net.
Danny Stewart and Greg Chambers led the scoring on that evening with two each, being well supported by Brent Hughes, Shaun Thompson and Matt Miller. The Edinburgh goals came from their man-of-the-match Mark Garside and David Nimmo.
That victory followed on from a 5-4 overtime success in Murrayfield, when Chambers again bagged a brace including the OT winner. Also on the Bison scoresheet were Curtiss Patrick with his first goal for the club, Hughes and Brad Cruikshank. The Caps marksmen were Garside, Doug Christiansen, Joe Dustin and Iain Bowie.
Since the last meeting, Edinburgh have added experienced netminder Pasi Raitanen and remains to see if he gets the start on Saturday night.
Basingstoke welcome back forward Greg Chambers who missed last weekend's thriller against Cardiff, as he was on Great Britain duty where he was the team's top points scorer.
Bison player/coach Braff is pleased to have Chambers back and said: "Having Chubbs in the dressing room is going to give the guys a lift, as he is one of the best players in the league."
Looking ahead to the Edinburgh contest, Braff commented: "This is a make or break game for us. We beat them last time, so that will make them even more focussed to beat us this time. We will take nothing for granted, as they have some good players.
"Having lost our last two home games, it is important to get back to winning ways in our own building. That is what we will be looking to do."
Some tickets for another great night at the Basingstoke Arena are still available by ringing the box office on (01256) 355266.
On Sunday night, the Bison travel to the Skydome to take on reigning champions and league leaders Coventry.
The Blaze are in red hot form at the moment and on Wednesday night they saw off the Hull Stingrays 6-1. Before facing the Herd they have a top-of-the-table battle with the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday night.
Looking forward to the Coventry contest, Braff said: " We went there last year and won, so it is not impossible. We know they will come out with a lot of intensity in their own building and we will have to match that if we are to get a result there."
