The Basingstoke Bison are pleased to announce the signing of British forward Ross Bowers.
This talented young British player has spent all his career at Milton Keynes Lightning winning the English Premier League play-off title four years on the trot and even scored in 2006 final victory over the Bracknell Bees.
The 22-year-old Luton born forward has for the past two years been MK's second highest goal scoring Brit, hitting the net 40 times in that period, so is sure to add some more firepower to the Bison offence.
Bison head coach Ryan Aldridge is delighted with his latest signing and said: "I played against Ross two years ago when I was in Bracknell and he was a good player then. I have been told that last year he may not have got as many points, but was a much better player."
As to where the new addition will slot into the line-up Aldridge said: "I am going to play him on a line with Tommo (Shaun Thompson) and a new tough guy, so this will mean they will not get intimidated. I am sure Ross will do well for the Bison I think this is the right time in his career to move up."
This will be Bowers first time playing in the Elite League and he said: "I am really excited about coming to the Bison. Last season was not the best year for me as I played injured and that did not help my confidence. I ended the season playing well and now will look to bring that form to Basingstoke. Having always played at Milton Keynes since I was 13 I am looking forward to the challenge of playing for a new club and I can't wait for the season to start."
The Bison's new Brit is one of the top young players in the EPL and is ready to take on this opportunity
Bowers added: "I know the pace of the Elite League is going to be faster and I have been speaking to Shaun Thompson as to what to expect. I intent to go out and work hard every shift and hopefully chip in with some goals as well."
