A BRAND new league, a brand new team and now the Basingstoke Bison have unveiled a brand new logo for the forthcoming season.
The new design, pictured right, is based on that of last season’s English Premier League champions the Peterborough Phantoms and is sure to be a big hit with the Herd’s fans.
John Neville, director of operations of Planet Ice who own the Bison, said: “I am very pleased with the design and I hope the fans will be too. They asked for Basingstoke and Bison to be included in the logo for a while so that is what we have done. The addition of the pucks means you know it is an ice hockey team.”
He added: “It is a new logo for a new team and the dawn of a new start for the Bison in what I think will be a very exciting season especially for the fans.”
With just over a month before the puck is hit in anger in the new EPL, the fixtures are set to be released shortly and the club are set to unveil their new shirt designs soon as well.
The Herd will open their English Premier League campaign on Saturday September 19, a week after playing back-to-back challenge matches with local rivals the Bracknell Bees, the home game being on September 12.
