Time is ticking as the countdown to the hockey season gets closer. Are we ready? Of course not! To be honest, we have done a lot of work in 3 training sessions. The players have been impressive and at this stage I think we look better than I would have anticipated. Tomorrow night will give us a good indication of fitness levels and team organization.
I hope we have a great turnout to watch our first game. Tell your friends, tell your neighbours, hockey season is upon us. Tonight some of the Bison players will be delivering season tickets to a few supporters’ houses. Mindy is hoping that some Lithuanian cake will be on offer at the house he is visiting!
The bar area upstairs is in heavy construction as Wolfies aims to open as soon as they possibly can. I can’t wait to test out their Nachos and some of the other things on the menu. I believe that they are hoping to tidy up parts of the bar so that people can get a drink on Saturday night.
On Sunday night in Bracknell, Matt Cote’s shirt is going to be retired, having played 10 seasons with the Bees. I have played with Matt for one season with the Bison 6 years ago and also a couple of GB world championships. I must say that Matt Cote is a gentleman, a great team player and was extremely dedicated to the sport and his team. The way he played scared me. He would throw himself in front of shots blocking up to 15 shots a game! If you get a chance, head over to Bracknell to see Matt honoured and his shirt retired.
See you tomorrow,
Mo
