Bison don't deserve opening league loss


THE BASINGSTOKE Bison lost their opening English Premier League encounter, 7-4 to the visiting Manchester Phoenix on Saturday night.
This was despite dominating the game as they were unable to convert their chances.
The Herd fought their way back from 2-0 and 4-2 down to tie a very entertaining contest 4-4 at the second buzzer. This was thanks to goals from Ondrej Lauko, Ollie Bronnimann, Tom Long and Nicky Chinn.
The Phoenix scoring was led by a four goal haul from Ed Courtenay, along with strikes from Luke Boothroyd, Joe Graham and Ben Wood.



Bison enjoy victory in Guildford


THE BASINGSTOKE Bison recorded their first victory in the English Premier League with a 3-2 success in Guildford on Sunday night.
All three of the Herd's goals came from Ondrej Lauka as he scored twice in the first period and then netted a short-handed strike to complete his hat-trick.
Th Guildford goals came from Gary Clarke and Martin Masa.
