Bison Win Home Thriller

THE BASINGSTOKE Bison edged out the visiting Peterborough Phantoms 2-1 in a thrilling game on Saturday night at the Silverdome Arena.

The Bison opened the scoring at 36:15, thanks to Chris Wiggins and it was no more than they deserved.

Basingstoke then doubled their lead, thanks to in form Slovak sniper Ondrej Lauko in the 44th minute.

However, the visiting Phantoms reduced the lead to one, with less than five minutes to go.

That was scored by Brent Gough and set up a tense finish, but the Herd held on to win.

Bison Second Road Win

A five goal final period blitz saw the Basingstoke Bison cruise to a 6-1 victory to beat the Romford Raiders in Essex on Sunday night.

Slovak sniper Ondrej Lauko bagged his second consecutive road hat-trick along with goals from Steve Moria, Ollie Bronnimann and Joe Ciccarello.

Lauko opened the scoring before the Raiders' Dean Tonks squared the game before the second buzzer, the Herd then stampeded away to victory, their third win on the trot.

The Bison are next in league action when the Sheffield Scimitars visit Basingstoke on Saturday face off 6.30pm, Doors Open 5.30pm -Tickets are available at the Box Office for personal callers or by calling 01256 355266.
