Bison's night of celebration
24th of April 2008
The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce that their 20th anniversary reunion game will be played on Wednesday October 29, with a 7.30pm face-off.

It is set to be a great night to celebrate 20 years of ice hockey in the Hampshire town and will be one of many events over the next 12 months.

The club also this week unveiled the winner of their 20th anniversary logo competition, which will be on the front of the shirts worn for the special game, as well as being a patch on the Bison's Elite League jerseys during the coming season.

The winning design includes a silhouette of the first Beavers logo as the club was know from 1988-1995, as well as the current Bison one. It also cleverly uses the star which has been part of previous club badges.

The winning designer was Tom Carrington from Fleet and he said: "I looked at all the old logos of the club and tried to use as many elements as possible. It was all about the history and getting the name change in there somewhere. I think it has come together very well and I hope the fans like it."

His prize for winning the competition which had over 150 entries, is two tickets to the game, as well as a framed copy of his design and also a shirt for the special reunion game which will be presented to him on the night.

Graeme Peers, chairman of the 20th anniversary committee who are organising the evening said: "On benefit of the committee I can say we are delighted with the logo and it will certainly see us through a great year in the club's history."

He added: "I must say a big thank-you to everyone who took the time to enter, as with over 150 entries the competition has proved a great success.
