THE BASINGSTOKE Bison enjoyed a fine 8-3 victory on Saturday night at the Link Centre at the expense of the Swindon Wildcats.

Ondrej Lauko gave the Herd a first period lead, only for Swindon to take 3-1 advantage thanks to strikes from Matt Foord, Ryan Aldridge and Raimond Danilics.

The Bison hit back to level the game as Steve Moria and Mindy Kieras both scored on the powerplay.

Basingstoke’s Joe Ciccarello then scored a brace of shorthanded markers to make it 5-3 at the second buzzer.

The final 20 minutes saw three more unanswered goals from the visitors as Lauko and two from Ollie Bronnimann completed the 8-3 scoreline.
