Halloween action on Saturday night will see the Basingstoke Bison hoping to out trick the Manchester Phoenix and treat their fans to another home victory.
The Herd come into the game on the back of an impressive 9-2 victory over the Peterborough Phantoms on Thursday night in the Planet Ice Cup.
It snapped the Bison two game losing streak in their own building and they will now look to extend their home rule against Manchester.
However, the Phoenix have already burnt the Herd twice this season 7-4 in Basingstoke and then 6-5 in overtime at the Altrincham Ice Dome.
That last defeat was a real heartbreaker for the Bison, so they have even more of a burning desire to set the record straight.
Bison Player/coach Steve Moria said: “I feel we have a team capable of beating Manchester and we were all left bitterly disappointed when we lost last time and want to put that right.”
Manchester’s main offensive threat will come from Tony Hand and Ed Courtenay and stopping them could well be the key to victory.
Moria added: “Tony and Ed have done well against us in previous games this season and we have to keep them quiet. That is not going to be easy, but if we let them dominate the game then it is going to be difficult to win.”
The Bison’s cause has not been helped by a minor injury crisis at the club, which saw Tony Redmond, Kurt Reynolds and Scott Spearing all miss Thursday’s victory.
So on Halloween night why no treat yourself and the family to a great night out in Basingstoke with the action starting at 6.30pm. Tickets are still available by ringing the box office on (01256) 355266.
On Sunday night, the Bison complete a busy schedule of three games in four days with a trip to Ice Sheffield to face the Sheffield Scimitars.
They beat the Yorkshire side in overtime 4-3 at home earlier in the season, but last weekend the Scims beat league leaders Milton Keynes, so once again it will be a stiff test for the team.
