Slovak sniper Ondrej Lauko will once look to hit the target when the Romford Raiders are in town on Saturday night.
The Bison’s leading goal scorer has so far bagged a hat-trick in both games against the Essex side, helping the Herd to a 6-1 road win and a 12-4 success the last time the Raiders were in Hampshire.
After last week’s nail biting penalty loss to the Guildford Flames, the Bison will be keen to bounce back to winning ways on home ice and their hopes have been further boosted by the news that Kurt Reynolds and Chris Wiggins could be back in their line-up this weekend.
Defenceman Reynolds has been out since mid-October with a broken finger, while hard hitting forward Wiggins has missed the past fortnight with a shoulder injury.
The return of the pair is certain to increase the Herd’s chances, but the Raiders have nothing to lose and would love another scalp to add to that of the Manchester Phoenix a fortnight ago.
Talking ahead of the game which has a 6.30pm face-off, Moria said: “I am looking forward to having Kurt and Chris back in the line-up and it important for us to come out and score early against Romford. That is what we did last time and from there we went on to dominate the game.”
Tickets for another great night of family entertainment at the Basingstoke Arena are still available from the box office on (01256) 355266.
On Sunday, The Bison travel to Peterborough for a game which doubles up as a league and cup encounter. The Herd are still in with a shout of making the cup semi-final having three group games still to play.
Moria is fully aware of the importance of the clash and said: “We want to make the final four and winning at Peterborough will help us achieve that, but it is not going to be easy as they have signed a few new players recently and are getting stronger all the time.”
