Having won convincingly last Saturday then losing in Peterborough on Sunday was extremely disappointing. I believed that we would play well and get the result needed. If we are going to have a chance of climbing the League table, we need to start putting together a winning streak. Whilst we contained their main scoring threats, up pops up an inspired third line of Yardley, Miller and Fowler to inflict the majority of the damage. Fowler impresses me every time I see him play, with his work rate and tenacity.
Bracknell are a team with belief as they are winning hockey games with regularity now. Although the Bees had been lingering around the bottom of the table for the first couple of months, their fans seemed to really support and get behind their team. I am sure that this has helped the players through their difficult beginning and their supporters should be applauded for this.
It is quite clear what we have to do to gain success tonight. As well as playing with desire and energy, we have to play well defensively. We are allowing teams far too many scoring opportunities. The key to any team’s success is defence. The major threat for the Bees is Cesky, who is probably the most dangerous player in the League.
As the days get closer to Christmas, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I would also like to wish the Bison a Happy New Year! I hope that we will get better during the last half of the season and achieve something special. What’s the goal? Winning the playoff championship at Coventry of course!
