4th of March 2010
During the last month of the season, teams will be jockeying for position. We are in a fight for fourth place with Manchester, with an outside chance of catching Guildford for 3rd spot. Bracknell and Swindon are battling for the 8th and final playoff position. Milton Keynes appear to have a lock on top spot although Slough will be thinking otherwise.
I am anticipating the biggest crowd of the season on Saturday night against Slough. Last weekend almost 1200 people watched us squeeze out an OT win against the Romford Raiders. Hopefully Slough’s game will attract over 1400! The school zone has been packed every week. Over 400 people will be coming as part of a school or group on Saturday. We are beginning to see lots of new faces watching the Bison hockey games.
The “Ride at the Rink” will allow hockey fans to sponsor us for our Charity bike trip from London to Paris in July. Emily, Jo and Mark will be riding stationary bikes throughout the game. Unfortunately Davey and myself will not be able to participate as we will be playing.
I am sure that many of you watched Canada win the gold medal against the U.S. My sister was fortunate to be able to witness the dramatic victory. She said it was one of the greatest days of her life as the excitement was beyond belief. Canada was destined for the gold and Crosby to be the hero. It was a phenomenal sporting moment and will surely bring new people to the sport of ice hockey all over the world.
Wolfies is opening on Friday! All week long I have been sampling the food at Wolfies. My favourites at the moment are the chicken nachos and bbq chicken. This restaurant will be a success. The food is excellent and the place looks fantastic. The Bison and the Bison season ticket holders will be treated to a night out at Wolfies on Thursday.
See you Saturday- Come on Bison!!
