A View from the Booth.
26th of March 2010
Hi Fans

Sorry I haven’t spoken to you through the Stampede recently, but with work commitments I had to hand things over to the Bellmeister and I am sure you will agree he has been doing a sterling job. Sadly I can’t make the qualifying game next weekend due to my duties with the EIHL in Nottingham, had I not agreed to do the playoffs so early in the summer I would without a doubt be in Bisonland helping the team onto Coventry. So here we are again, I don’t know how you guys feel about the season but overall I have been very pleased with much of what I have seen, as promised Mo put together a competitive side that have fought for every point and formed a great foundation for the future we aren’t there yet so keep up the pace fans. There haven’t been many games where the hockey has been one sided and if we were to look at the what ifs(Scott, Joe & Kurts injuries to start) we could have been fighting for first place spot. My banter will be shorter than usual after all I imagine you have heard too much from me this season especially if you read the feature in Powerplay last week. I would like to use this short piece to thank many people and I am sure just like a best mans speech I will forget someone so apologies in advance. My sincerest thanks go to Paul West who has worked tirelessly from the end of last season right through to the end of this one, it is hard to find anything Bison he isn’t helping with and without his efforts and Sharon’s patience many things just wouldn’t have got done. The guys on Bison TV, we all hear and see the Bellmeister (Who is filling the hot seat whilst I am in Nottingham) but up there on the roof it really is a team effort and some brilliant work has come from them. The programme has been lovingly put together once more by someone I am proud to call a friend but also a friend to the Bison, having a young family, another on the way and an ageing hubby it amazes me how good the Stampede looks week in week out thanks T. Then there is Mark Fuller, who quite frankly had a tough act to follow but has stood in his own shoes and put a refreshing take on the Bison brand. A very very big thanks goes to the BBJFC and the whole Manuel clan, they have and continue to help sow the seeds for new fans young and old alike as well as being reliable through and through. Then of course there are you guys, yes we lost some of you the way, sadly that always happens for one reason or another but I think we have gained a few more hundred than we lost, so even though the summer is ahead of us, keep spreading the word, keep it loyal and loud, I really appreciate everything and I mean everything you do every game. You, Me and the boys we ARE the B.I.S.O.N hopefully hear you in Coventry.
