Mo's Mumblings
1st of April 2010
There is no doubt that the quarter final stage of the playoffs is the most important time of the season. The Bison will play a do or die 2 game series versus rivals Guildford Flames. The winners will move on to the final four weekend which is the pinnacle of the EPL season. The loser’s season will suddenly come to an emotional end. For the fans and the players, it does not get any more exciting than this. The tension and excitement leading into this weekend, highlights the importance of the “120” minute game.

I expect this weekend’s games to be played at the highest level. It will be important for us to start well and attack the Flames defence. If the Flames use only 4 Dmen, we must forecheck and “hit” whenever and wherever possible. It will be critical that the Bison forwards pressure the Flames in their end. At the other end, we must contain the Guildford forwards. They are highly skilled and experienced forwards. In my opinion, having 6 imports does not give the Flames an advantage. They will probably make one change for the second game but if they make two changes, it means that we had a good game on Saturday night!

Whatever happens this weekend, I am sure that the games will be very intense. There is bound to be some sort of controversy, just as the last two Bison vs Flames games have produced. There was the disallowed penalty shot goal in which the puck went through the net. Then there was the game in which the Flames failed to come out for the national anthem.

I would suggest that you buy your tickets as soon as possible. We are expecting the biggest crowd for a Bison game in 15 years. 01256 355266 to get the hottest ticket in town!

Come on Bison!
