4th of February 2008
Hi Fans of the Stampede,
What a busy couple of weeks we have had and with match nights being so busy for me now I don't get as much of a chance to catch up with you all. So I thought I should post a little something via the website for those who don't read my banter in the match night programme.
I will start with a very big thank-you to everyone who helped with our promotion in Festival Place & our first annual Balloon launch. I was overwhelmed by the amount of fans offering help and all those wearing their team colours with pride. Thank-you one and all but a special mention to our friends from Kent who came to Blasingsmoke early to help and also to our Newbury fans who made a really special effort considering your circumstances, I really hope things improve for you soon. We managed to hand out over 300 introductions to Ice Hockey Booklets, 150 Calendars, and wait for it 2000 flyers featuring vouchers & fixture lists. A very special mention goes to the 'real' David Taylor who has put together some terrific posters and helped with adverts & flyers and a massive thanks to Caz, Paul & Rich who helped with the cutting, stapling and sticking of much of the Bison's current promotional material.
The future growth of our sport depends on everyone's attitude to the product, the Bison brand is really growing and I strongly believe it is important to get Kids involved. I as a proud parent love the fact that I can take Bailey to a game knowing that he will not be exposed to the sort of language you may hear from fans of other sports. Which is why we have decided to hold an end of season function on March 11th for the 12s and under, it will be at JJs indoor playcentre with food & drink and awards for players chosen by all those attending costing £7.50 per person please book by the Chuck-a-Duck. We also have plans to start a Kids-Club for all junior fans, we have looked at what the club could offer for members and will be publishing details before the end of the season, but if you have any thoughts or ideas please let me or Caz Silcox know ASAP.
I hope you enjoyed Freddie Berkury on Saturday, just a shame the spotlight operator was asleep!! Who knows we may have some more special guests appearing soon courtesy of the Partworkshop.co.uk who can be found on Hackwood Rd by the Memorial Park where we released 200 balloons on Saturday.
I have to also make you aware that at any point during a game you, your family and friends may end up having your photo taken or be included in video footage that could be used for promotional material. If you have any objections to this please ensure that we are made aware before the game begins.
Onwards and upwards, some more positives….
As of 12-o-clock today Monday 4th February we have sold 430 tickets for the schools block and into the upper tiers, Block A has approx 90 seats left, B,C & D approx 50 each….WOW, WOW, WOW if you tell them they will come……so get your tickets ASAP and don't stop telling them, we must step up another gear and keep them coming back bringing their friends & family who will bring their friends & family who will…etc, etc
