In The Grand Skene Of Things
22nd of May 2010
Basingstoke Bison Ice Hockey Club are proud to announce the signing of Rick Skene ahead of their English Premier League (EPL) 2010-11 campaign.

The 28-year old joins the Bison from the Guildford Flames where he spent the previous five seasons playing in the EPL and Director of Hockey Steve Moria is delighted to snatch Skene up.

'Ricky means business. He plays hard, he puts his body on the line and plays every game to win." said Steve after making the signing.

'We are getting a solid D-man, a real competitor who brings natural leadership to the Bison'

The Chicago-born D-man is a familiar face at the Basingstoke Arena having previously iced for the Bison in the 2004-05 Elite League season, making 49 appearances for the Herd.

Since making his debut in 2000, Rick has made nearly 400 appearances across all of the top leagues in Britain, including stints playing in America.

Following the success of last season’s Own-and-Loan jersey’s, fans will once again have the opportunity to ‘Own-and-Loan’ the home and away jersey’s that will be worn by the Bison throughout the 2010/11 season.

Each player’s home and away jersey will be available to purchase at £150 and £120 respectively. All Owners and Loaners will have their name printed on the back of the player’s jersey, as well as having the opportunity of a photograph with their respective player at the end of the season.

So for a chance to own and loan Rick's jersey by e-mailing bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk - the shirts will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis.
