Rounding Up The Herd
4th of June 2010
Hope you all had a great night on Wednesday at the Social Event in Wolfies. Quick thank you for all of you that turned up, it was certainly buzzing upstairs and was great to see and speak to so many different people.

For those of you who missed out, just to confirm that Steve announced THREE signings on the night, two familiar faces and one new player to the Herd. Ondrej Lauko and Ollie Bronnimann will be lacing up the skates for the Stampede, while Callum Best also joins the club from down the M3. Full details on the signings are available here

Rick Skene also put a message together for the Bison fans ahead of the season and that is available to view on the Bison TV YouTube Channel

Owners and Loaners have been out in force again to snatch up their favourite players jerseys. Congratulations to Grant King, The Clangers, Mark Taylor and Catlin on joining the Own and Loan club. Remember, just e-mail bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk as soon as a signing is confirmed on the Bison website - jersey's are sold on a first-come, first-served basis (£150 for the home jersey, £120 away).

The main reason for the Social Night was for the renewal and purchasing of new season tickets. Many thanks to all of you who have purchased them already with another quick reminder that the 2009/10 season ticket holders have until Friday 11th June 2010 to reserve their seats for the forthcoming season as they will go on sale to the general public on Sat 12th June. After the success of last season we have a considerable amount of new fans looking to purchase a season ticket for the forthcoming season (especially in blocks A, B, C and D), so don't miss out on reserving your seats for what will be another fascinating season of hockey in Basingstoke.

The 'Wig Wam Bam' DVD from last season had another showing at the Social Night, don't forget to purchase it from the Bison TV Shop - only five pounds, including delivery, with a pound from each sale going to the Charlie's Day Unit.

We are still on the look out for some enthuastic supporters to become a part of our 'Match-Night' team, specifically we are looking for one 'Off-Ice Official'. Also, we are looking for a couple of sellers to come on board and help us sell 'The Stampede', 'Chuck-a-Duck' and 'Chuck-a-Puck'. If you’re interested, please send us an e-mail to bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk and we'll be in touch about how you can help us.

You will have seen that we also launched our Junior Fan Club for the 2010/11 season as well. If you didn't, click on the link here to download the form to join. It's open to all our fans who are aged 14 and under and costs only ten pound, which includes an exclusive goody bag, along with the chance to win one of the players 'Own-and-Loan' shirts at the end of the season.

On the home page, there is an advert to purchase the EPL Play-Off Finals DVD for just £15 including postage and packaging. Even though the Bison weren't there, it was a fantastic weekend and if your beginning to get hockey withdrawal symptoms, it could be worth a flutter. (And if it's a bit too pricey, all Bison DVD's from last season are now down to £5 on the Bison TV Shop)

Quick word from the guys at Wolfies, they've got loads of fantastic deals in the run-up to the Football World Cup, including special match night menus for certain games. And if you book a table for more than 4 people to eat on a World Cup night, upon arrival, you will receive a FREE four-pint pitcher of Wolfies Own Lager or alternatively, a bottle of house red or white wine. Fantastic I'm sure you will agree so get your bookings in and enjoy a drink on the Wolf's behalf.

That's all from us for this week - hope you all go out and enjoy the weather this weekend (still feels strange walking into an ice rink on a hot day!) Don't forget to keep checking out the Bison website for all the latest news and views. Remember to follow us on Twitter (if you haven't already!) and also, for those of you on Facebook, to join the Basingstoke Bison and Bison TV groups.
