Rounding Up The Herd
11th of June 2010
Another week closer to the start of the season with plenty of goings-on at the Basingstoke Arena and abroad as well.

The big news coming out of the Herd this week is the signing of Viktor Kubenko, our third import for the new season.

If you missed out on the announcement, it's available here, along with some words from Steve about the signing.

Certainly things are shaping up ahead of the new season, so it's one final reminder to season ticket holders from the 2009/10 season that TODAY (Friday 11th June) is the final day to reserve your seats for the forthcoming season as they will go on sale to the general public on Saturday 12th June.

After the success of last season, we have a considerable amount of new fans looking to purchase a season ticket for the forthcoming season (especially in blocks A, B, C and D), so don't miss out on reserving your seats for what will be another fascinating season of hockey in Basingstoke.

The 'Own-and-Loan' scheme is proving a hit once again, with many fans taking the chance to secure their favourite player's home and away jersey's. Remember, all owners and loaners will have their name printed on the back of the player's jersey, as well as having the opportunity of getting a photograph with their respective player at the end of the season.

As soon as a signing is released on the Bison website, the jerseys are available on a first-come, first-served basis (priced £150 for the home and £120 for the away), by e-mailing bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk

We currently have a few jersies available for purchase right now.
Home Jersey:- Rick Skene, Callum Best, Ollie Bronnimmann and Viktor Kubenko
Away Jersey:- Ciaran Long, Kurt Reynolds, Sam Oakford, Rick Skene, Callum Best, Ollie Bronnimann.

Just e-mail bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk to purchase one of these jerseys (once again, available on a first-come, first-served basis).

Finally, it seems although the 2009/10 season can be put at an end with the Chicago Blackhawks lifting the Stanley Cup. For those of you who may not know, former Bison GM/Head Coach Mark Bernard is the General Manager of Minor League Affiliations for the Blackhawks, and was there in Philadelphia as they collected the trophy. From all of us involved with the Bison organisation, we wish to offer a huge congratulations to Bernie and the Blackhawks on this tremendous achievement.

The 'Wig Wam Bam' DVD from last season is still available to buy, don't forget to purchase it from the Bison TV Shop - only five pounds, including delivery, with a pound from each sale going to the Charlie's Day Unit.

We are still on the look out for some enthuastic supporters to become a part of our 'Match-Night' team, specifically we are looking for one 'Off-Ice Official'. Also, we are looking for a couple of sellers to come on board and help us sell 'The Stampede', 'Chuck-a-Duck' and 'Chuck-a-Puck'. If you’re interested, please send us an e-mail to bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk and we'll be in touch about how you can help us.

You will have seen that we also launched our Junior Fan Club for the 2010/11 season as well. If you didn't, click on the link here to download the form to join. It's open to all our fans who are aged 14 and under and costs only ten pound, which includes an exclusive goody bag, along with the chance to win one of the players 'Own-and-Loan' shirts at the end of the season.

On the home page, there is an advert to purchase the EPL Play-Off Finals DVD for just £15 including postage and packaging. Even though the Bison weren't there, it was a fantastic weekend and if your beginning to get hockey withdrawal symptoms, it could be worth a flutter. (And if it's a bit too pricey, all Bison DVD's from last season are now down to £5 on the Bison TV Shop)

Quick word from the guys at Wolfies, they've got loads of fantastic deals for this year's Football World Cup (which kicks off tonight), including special match night menus for certain games. And if you book a table for more than 4 people to eat on a World Cup night, upon arrival, you will receive a FREE four-pint pitcher of Wolfies Own Lager or alternatively, a bottle of house red or white wine. Fantastic I'm sure you will agree so get your bookings in and enjoy a drink on the Wolf's behalf.

That's all from us for this week - Don't forget to keep checking out the Bison website for all the latest news and views. Remember to follow us on Twitter (if you haven't already!) and also, for those of you on Facebook, to join the Basingstoke Bison and Bison TV groups.
