The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce the re-signing of top British forward Andy Hemmings for their forthcoming English Premier League campaign.
The hard working 21-year-old Guilford-born player was the Herd’s third highest British league goal scorer last season, hitting the net 14 times.
He also added 19 assists for a final points total of 33, which was more than double his previous best in the EPL, which was 16 the year before in Bracknell.
Bison player/coach Steve Moria is pleased to have another important returnee put pen to paper and said: “He certainly has all the tools and his game can only develop more. He has great speed and a good head for the game.”
“I though last season in spells Hemmer was outstanding. He is young player who is still learning and now it is a matter of being consistent and with his ability I see no reason why he cannot do that.”
Hemmings has set himself a target between 20 and 25 goals for this campaign and is pleased to be suiting up the Herd again.
Hemmings said: “I really enjoyed my first season in Basingstoke, the fans were great and really felt like home. I found it easy to settle into the team even if it was brand new.”
He added: “Next season I have set myself a target of 20 to 25 goals. I got some many deuces last season, so it would be nice to chalk-up my first league hat-trick.”
Bison fans have the chance to own Hemmings’ match-worn jerseys for the season as part of the Own and Loan scheme, which proved to be a great success last season.
Each player's home and away jersey will be available at £150 for the home shirt and £120 for the away.
All owners and loaners will have their name printed on the back of the player's jersey, as well as having the opportunity of getting a photograph with their respective player at the end of the season.
The jerseys are available on a first-come, first-served basis by e-mailing bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk
