Rounding Up The Herd
14th of July 2010
It's been a busy week here at the Basingstoke Arena so it time for a catch up on all Bison related activites.

Since the last round-up, there's been two re-signings and one new face joining the Herd. Mindy Kieras and Carl Graham will be patrolling the blue-line, whilst Andy Hemmings will be back as part of the forward line. The side is certainly shaping up as the season gets closer and closer (less than nine weeks away at the time of writing!)

Once again, the 'Own-and-Loan' scheme is proving a hit, with many fans taking the chance to secure their favourite player's home and away jersey's. Remember, all owners and loaners will have their name printed on the back of the player's jersey, as well as having the opportunity of getting a photograph with their respective player at the end of the season.

As soon as a signing is released on the Bison website, the jerseys are available on a first-come, first-served baseis (priced £150 for home and £120 for away) by e-mailing bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk.

We currently have a few jersey's available for purchase right now.

Home Jersey:- Rick Skene, Carl Graham
Away Jersey:- Ciaran Long, Kurt Reynolds, Sam Oakford, Rick Skene, Ollie Bronnimann and Carl Graham.

Just e-mail bison.info@planet-ice.co.uk to purchase one of these jersey's (once again, available on a first-come, first-served basis.)

Sponsors are signing up to the Herd, following the continuation of the Follow the Herd campaign. We offer a great way for local companies to become involved with the premiere sporting event in the Basingstoke region. None more than with our 'Player Sponsorship' scheme, where for just £150, you can sponsor a player through the entire season.

One of those to sign up has been Phil Barratt, who will be sponsoring Ollie Bronnimann throughout the 2010/11 season and we on www.bstokebison.co.uk caught up with him to ask him why he wanted to be involved with the Bison.

'After supporting Mo, and the other ex-Slough guys in a voluntary capacity for a couple of seasons from the bench at The Hanger, as part of the Jets Therapist Team, the Bison naturally became my team of choice when I myself moved to Basingstoke halfway through the last season.

'Setting up any business in a new location presents a number of challenges, one of which being publicity. The idea of sponsoring one of the players appealed to me, as it allows me to advertise on the web-site for my massage business
(bstokemassage.co.uk) for quite a minimal cost, whilst at the same time putting something back into a sport I really enjoy.'

It really is that simple and easy to get involved with the Herd in the coming year. So why not download a 'Follow the Herd'
You will have seen that we also launched our Junior Fan Club for the 2010/11 season as well. If you didn't, click on the link here to download the form to join. It's open to all our fans who are aged 14 and under and costs only ten pound, which includes an exclusive goody bag, along with the chance to win one of the players 'Own-and-Loan' shirts at the end of the season.

On the home page, there is an advert to purchase the EPL Play-Off Finals DVD for just £15 including postage and packaging. Even though the Bison weren't there, it was a fantastic weekend and if your beginning to get hockey withdrawal symptoms, it could be worth a flutter. (And if it's a bit too pricey, all Bison DVD's from last season are now down to £5 on the Bison TV Shop)

That's all from us for this week - Don't forget to keep checking out the Bison website for all the latest news and views. Remember to follow us on Twitter (if you haven't already!) and also, for those of you on Facebook, to join the Basingstoke Bison and Bison TV groups.
