Edinburgh 5 - 4 Bison (after OT)
28th of January 2008
This was an absolute must win contest for Capitals against the team they must aim to overtake if a Play-Off spot is to be achieved and in the end the home side did take the two points but only after overtime with the single point gained by the 'Bison 10' being invaluable.

A spirited start by both sides saw Capitals take the lead after only 2.17 as Mark Garside (5th) found the net but Bison tied it up at 8.21 with Greg Chambers (27th) counting. A powerplay goal by Kyle Horne (4th) at 12.30 edged the home side back in front but equality was again restored with only 48 seconds of the period remaining as Greg Owen(20th) scored for Bison.

The middle session saw Capitals look to take command and they built up a 2-goal advantage with a double strike from Ryan Crane (8th, 9th) at 27.59 and 35.49.

However, the 'Bison 10' are nothing if not resilient and they staged another great comeback in the third period to take the game to overtime. A shorthanded goal by Chambers (28th) at 41.03 started the fightback and then at 49.25 it was all square when Owen (21st) grabbed his second of the game on the powerplay.

That's the way it remained until with only 10 seconds remaining in the extra period Capitals snatched the winner from the stick of Martin Cingel (11th) to grab the extra point that may still prove crucial during the run in.
