The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce that Chris Wiggins has been re-signed for the 2011/12 English Premier League season.
The 23-year old power forward will make his presence felt in the Basingstoke Arena for a third season as the 6' 5" star returns to the club.
Wiggins iced in 53 games for the Herd last year, scoring 19 points for the side, including 9 goals - which included the first hat-trick of his senior career. He also amassed 230 penalty minutes.
Director of Ice Hockey Steve Moria is pleased to be welcoming Chris back into the line-up.
"Despite receiving several higher offers from other teams, Chris has decided to remain with the Bison. I like Wiggy's determination and work ethic. This year I feel he will continue to develop his skills adding another level to his overall game."
Speaking ahead of his return to the Herd, Chris said
"I'm very happy to be invited back as part of the Bison family. Since joining the Herd two seasons ago, I've been made to feel very welcome by the players, staff and fans. I'm very much looking forward to bringing home a trophy this coming season."
The signings are coming thick-and-fast in Basingstoke so keep your eyes peeled to the Bison website in the coming weeks to see who's the next player to be joining the Stampede.
Following the success of last season’s Own-and-Loan jersey’s, the Basingstoke Bison are once delighted to offer the opportunity for fans to ‘Own-and-Loan’ the home and away jersey’s that will be worn by the Bison throughout the 2011/12 season.
Each player’s home and away jersey will be available to purchase at £150 and £120 respectively. All Owners and Loaners will have their name printed on the back of the player’s jersey, as well as having the opportunity of a photograph with their respective player at the end of the season.
Chris Wiggins jersies is now up for grabs. All you have to do is e-mail info@bstokebison.co.uk - the shirts will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis, when the announcement is made on the Official Basingstoke Bison website.
